腹足纲，中腹足目，海兔螺科。贝壳厚，呈卵形，比其他许多种海兔螺大的多。产于海南岛三亚沿海，见于西沙群岛、台湾、印度、太平洋热带海区也有分布。栖息于浅海岩礁或珊瑚礁海底，黑海绵上，暖水种。
