为龙虾科，龙虾属的一种。中国龙虾生性胆小，自然条件下昼伏夜出，白天隐匿于岩礁的洞穴内，夜间活动、摄食。穴居时卷起尾部退入洞，两触角留于洞外作圈式运动。中国龙虾生活在我国东南沿海7~40米深的海区，栖息于岩礁间。
