亦称食人鲨。为鼠鲨科，噬人鲨属的大型凶猛鲨类。广泛分布于热带、亚热带和温带海洋,见于我国广东沿海。噬人鲨生活在温暖的海洋里,是掠食动物中体型最大,牙齿最多者，在蕴藏有哺乳动物化石的海洋沉积岩中，这些哺乳动物很可能就是它的猎物,也是对人类三大危险鲨鱼之一。
