别称竹蛏，双壳纲，南北沿海均有分布，日本本州南部浅海的泥沙中，栖息于椭圆形的洞穴中。长竹蛏个体肥大，足部肌肉特别发达，味极鲜美，入药有滋补、通乳功效，是我国重要的经济贝类。
