珊瑚虫纲，石珊瑚目，鹿角珊瑚科，鹿角珊瑚属。分布于太平洋和印度洋，包括红海、波斯湾、印度洋、日本海、中国东海和南海、太平洋中部。一般栖息于热带海洋的珊瑚硝、内及浅海潮下带的礁石内，营固着生活，喜群集。
