石首鱼科，梅童鱼属。我国近海均有分布，是近海性小型鱼类。棘头梅童主要分布在黄海和东海，以东海产量最大。每年的4~6月和9~10月为渔汛旺期。

This species belongs to the genus of Collichthy,family of Sciaenidae,also known as croaker.It is a small offshore fish,and distributed in Chinese coastal waters. Mainly distributed in the Yellow Sea and the East Sea of China, the largest production is in the East Sea. Every year from April to June and September to October is the catching season.
