硬骨鱼纲，海龙目，海龙科，海龙属。又名大管鱼，体长33-35cm，最长可达47cm。为暖水性小型鱼类，栖息于河口咸淡水水域及近海，也进入淡水生活。栖息深度可达110公尺，其种群分布于东大西洋区。
