食人鲳，也称食人鱼，是分布于南美洲亚马逊河中的一种鱼，是水虎鱼（Piranha）的一种。水虎鱼有近56种，属脂鲤科中的锯鲑脂鲤亚科，按食性不同，可分为：杂食性，肉食性两种。肉食性的食人鲳，正名红腹锯鲑脂鲤（nattereri），即纳氏锯脂鲤。该鱼体长 30厘米（不计尾鳍）。

主要分布于安第斯山以东至巴西平原的诸河流中。除亚马逊河外，库亚巴河和奥利诺科河也是其主要产地。现处于南美洲亚马逊河流域,分布于阿根廷、巴西。

Maneating pomfret, also known as piranha, is a kind of fish distributed in the Amazon River of South America and a kind of piranha. There are nearly 56 species of piranhas, belonging to the subfamily Sarcophagidae in the family Lipocyprinidae. According to different feeding habits, they can be divided into two types: omnivorous and carnivorous. The carnivorous piranha, also known as nattereri, is also known as nattereri. The fish is 30cm long (excluding tail fins).

It is mainly distributed in the rivers from the east of Andes to Brazil Plain. In addition to the Amazon River, the Cuyaba River and Orinoco River are also its main producing areas. It is now located in the Amazon River basin of South America, distributed in Argentina and Brazil.
